Snow-capped Mount Rainer towers 4392m above the Cascade Mountain Range and boasts over 40 glaciers. Located 130km south of Seattle, it one of North America’s most recognisable mountains.
Although many travellers stop to snap a few photos of Mount Rainier’s snow capped peak (if it’s not shrouded in cloud), the more active traveller may be tempted to undertake one of the national park’s many hiking trails.
Admission to the national park costs $15 per car or $5 if you arrive by foot or public transport.
