Local Transport

TCAT Bus (website www.tcatbus.com) run local bus services in the Ithaca area. Standard fares are $1.50 and a one-day pass costs $3.

Cornell University

Most of Ithaca's sights are centred on its Ivy League university. Campus tours leave from the Information & Referral Center in Day Hall on East Avenue.

Herbert F Johnson Museum of Art

The small art museum houses an impressive collection that includes works by Dürer, Goya, Matisse and Toulouse-Lautrec but it is most noted for its collection of Asian Art.

Museum of the Earth

This natural history museum run by the Paleontological Research Institution features the skeleton of a North Atlantic Right Whale plus a gallery depicting pre-history from the Big Bang through to the Ice Age and exhibits on effects of climate change and how glaciers shaped the landscape of the Finger Lakes. Dinosaurs comprise a major focus of the museum.
