America West, American and United fly from San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport, 5km south of town.
Greyhound (tel (805) 543 2121) coaches stop at 150 South Street and Central Coast Area Transit (CCAT; tel (805) 541 2228) buses stop at the corner of Palm and Osos Streets and go to nearby towns like Cambria, Pismo Beach and San Simeon.
Amtrak’s Coast Starlight and Pacific Surfliner trains stop at the train station on Santa Rosa Street east of the town centre.
Local bus services are run by San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority (tel (805) 541 2277). Bus fares are 75c or $2 for the night buses that run on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. A one-day pass costs $4.
