Although a suburb of San Francisco, this student neighbourhood across the bay, north of Oakland, is unique enough to warrant its own section. Coming & Going

Although served by buses from around the Bay Area; the easiest way to visit Berkeley is by BART, which is about a 25-minute ride from San Francisco. There are three BART stations in Berkeley and Downtown Berkeley and North Berkeley stations are closest to most points of interest.

UC Berkeley

Berkeley’s University of California campus is its main attraction. Campus tours run from the UC Berkeley Visitors Center or you can visit the observation deck at the top of Sather Tower for a fine view of the campus and the surrounding area.
